Monkeying Around the World

Lil Dave’s Adventures with Ivan and Jennifer

Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua

Ivan and Jennifer had the free breakfast at the hotel on July 9, 2009.  I had a lovely banana.  Ivan went to return the motorbike.

We checked out of the Lumbung Sari Guesthouse.  We stored our backpacks with the front desk.

We walked to Nomad for lunch.  Ivan and Jennifer started off with the three tapas: fish satay lilit, chicken sisit and grilled fish pepes.  I got the banana dish with Balinese curry.  Ivan got the pumpkin ravioli.

Jennifer ordered the tagliatelle with onions, spinach and chicken in a pesto sauce (instead of the white wine cream sauce it usually comes with).  The food was delicious as usual!

Ivan found a private car for 200,000 IDR to take us to Nusa Dua.  It was a short drive.  We arrived there in an hour.

We checked in to Ellie’s Guesthouse.  It’s a lovely place run by a British couple.

There’s a nice pool that has a lady statue with water coming out of the vase she’s holding.

We took a taxi to PEPeNERO for dinner.  There was a nice view of the sunset but we were too late to actually see the sun go down.  I ordered a banana pizza which turned out quite good.  DSC09041

Ivan had the tuna steak.  Jennifer got a margherita pizza.  She thought it was the best margherita pizza she’s ever had.  It had a thin crust and not too much cheese (she tries not to eat too much cheese).

We got a taxi back to the guesthouse.  Ivan and Jennifer used the free internet in the lobby.  Then, it was time for bed.

Ivan and Jennifer had the great free breakfast in the hotel.  They both ordered two boiled eggs, tea and toast.  It also comes with a juice.  They both got watermelon juice.  I had two bananas with a piece of toast for my breakfast.

Ivan rented a motorbike for the day for 70,000 IDR ($7 USD).  He drove around Nusa Dua.

I worked on the blog for most of the day.  Jennifer used the internet.

We took a taxi to Jimbaran Beach (the middle part) for dinner.  The other parts of the beach have more expensive food there – even though it’s the same type of seafood being served.  We sat down at Lia’s Cafe.  Ivan ordered a Bintang while Jennifer got a pineapple juice.

We saw a beautiful sunset.  Jennifer wanted to order a fish.  Ivan wasn’t hungry since he had a pot noodle earlier.  Jennifer wanted a barracude but it wasn’t even 1 kg.  She decided on tuna.  The fish the man pulled out was 2 kg.  She was thinking of getting 1 or 1.5 kg.  She thought 1.5 kg might be alright for her.  She wasn’t sure of the size.  I got a tasty banana noodle dish.

The fish dinner comes with a tuna soup and a small vegetable salad (no lettuce).  The tuna came out and it was HUGE!  Jennifer didn’t think it would be so much.  Ivan decided to eat since there was so much fish. The fish was marinated in a tomato sauce.

There were three types of dips: tomato sambal, garlic and a salsa.  The tomato sambal was the best.  The fish tasted fantastic with it!  The fish meal cost only 75,000 IDR ($7.50 USD).  We definitely would come back another time.
