Lil Dave’s Adventures with Ivan and Jennifer

The Final test and a Castle

The Final test and a Castle

Ivan, Jennifer and I woke up early on March 13, 2009.  It was Ivan’s last day of the Open Water PADI course.  We went for breakfast at the El Galleon resort.  Ivan had eggs on toast with baked beans.  I had two bananas.  Jennifer got the cornflakes with bananas.  She didn’t share any of her bananas with me.  We had to switch to a nicer room.  It was good since there was good air conditioning and a tv in the room. We moved our backpacks into the new room.

I did more blogging today.  It has been nice relaxing and catching up on the blog posts.  Ivan had a long day.  He did more diving.  Also, he had to take his final test at the end of the day.

We all met up for lunch at the resort.  We decided to order the same thing.  I had the peanut butter and banana sandwich.  Ivan got the fish coup and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  Jen got the tasty chicken salad.

The food was delicious again.

Ivan would come back since he had a break.  He had to go diving again.  Then, it was time for his final test.  Jennifer and I wished him good luck.  He came back later on.  He had passed his course!  Ivan was really happy.  We were so proud of him for passing.

We ended up eating at the El Galleon Resort.  It was nice to have a good restaurant where we were staying.  The restaurant had a special going on.  Ivan and Jennifer ordered the Chicken Divan special.  It’s a chicken breast with a mornay sauce.  It comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes.

I ordered a chicken and banana adobo.  The food was so delectable!  We were so stuffed afterwards.

We went back to the room to watch some tv and enjoy the nice cold room.

We packed all our stuff up on March 14, 2009.  Ivan checked out of the El Galleon.  He ordered lunch.  I had a peanut butter and banana sandwich.  Ivan and Jennifer each got a chicken salad.

We walked to Tropicana Castle.  Ivan heard about this castle from another traveler.  A German guy spent a lot of money building a castle in Puerto Galera.  It’s huge.

We checked in to Tropicana Castle.  The room was really great.

The bed is a nice four poster bed.  The bed is so high that Jen has to jump into bed.  The bathroom has pink tiles on the walls and floor.

There’s a big tub and a regular shower.  The only bad thing was the super small tv.  Ivan went to the floating bar for a drink.  He didn’t drink during his diving course.  Jennifer and I stayed and watched tv.

Jennifer read in the guide book that Tropicana Ristorante served good food.  We went to the restaurant which is run by the castle.  Ivan ordered a chicken risotto while Jennifer got the spaghetti al pesto.  I got the banana and chicken spaghetti.  Ivan’s risotto dish was really big.  The food was fantastic!

We were all so tired from the big meal.  We went to sleep early.  Tomorrow we’d be heading on a boat to Batangas and then a car to Manila.
