Ivan, Jennifer and I went to lunch at the El Nido Boutique and Artcafe on February 13, 2009. Ivan had cream of mushroom soup and a tuna sandwich. I had banana soup.
Jennifer had the mackerel fish steak. The food tasted really good. We chilled and used the free wi-fi at the cafe. Ivan booked a mini-van to Puerto Princesa tomorrow. We have enjoyed our stay at El Nido. It’s a small town that feels like a nice, small Filipino town despite being a tourist beach place.
The only bad thing is that the electricity turns off usually around 7 am. It comes back on arpund 12 pm. Sometimes it goes off again around 3 pm. Then it’s back around 6 pm. I think El Nido could become more popular. It’s just a hard place to get to since flights aren’t a regular thing. I think more bbq banana stands are essential too. It’s a bbq banana with sugar on top – delicious!
I worked on the blog today. It was another day to relax.
We went to The Alternative for dinner. The restaurant is located upstairs. There’s two round tables that are located right above the sea. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to sit over the water. But, we still got the big round table. Ivan and Jen started off with the hummus. I decided to go with the Pancit with Banana and Chicken. Ivan got a Filipino dish, which I can’t recall the name. It had Mackarel and vegetables all chopped up together. Jennifer ordered four slices of pumpkin. The food was pretty good here. There was a man singing and playing the acoustic guitar. We wanted to stay longer, but we were getting tired. We walked back home and called it a night.
