More Pattaya
Ivan, Jennifer and I went to the pool on December 30, 2008. I was lounging around and enjoying the sun. Ivan and Jennifer swam around. There’s a big float with a trampoline in the middle. They liked lying on the trampoline. We were reading. We ordered lunch by the pool. Ivan got a fish curry. Jennifer ordered a tuna sandwich. I got banana fritters with honey on top. The food tasted good.
We packed all our stuff up. We saw Rob down in the lobby. We said goodbye to him. He was heading back to England. We took a bus to Siam Bayshore. We checked into the hotel and settled down in the room.
Ivan’s stomach was feeling bad. He believes it was the fish curry from lunch. So, we stayed in the room for the night. We ordered some room service for dinner. We saw some fireworks in the sky. We watched some tv and then went to bed early.
Ivan was feeling a bit better on December 31, 2008. We had free breakfast at the hotel. It’s a buffet filled with a variety of food. He went shopping in the markets. Jennifer slept more. She loves to sleep. I think she’d sleep 10 hours a night if she could. We walked to Tip’s for a late lunch. I had a banana sandwich. Ivan had a tuna sandwich. Jennifer ordered a chicken sandwich. The food was okay.
We took it easy since Ivan wasn’t feeling 100%. We all were in chill mode.
At 11 pm, we headed down towards the beach. The hotel was having a dinner party. We were allowed to sit in the area since we were guests. The fireworks display would start at midnight. People had begun setting off fireworks already. I saw a monkey family hanging out in a nearby tree. Apparently, they were waiting for the fireworks too. The fireworks were being set off all along the beach and also right by the Pattaya City sign.
It was a nice fireworks display. It doesn’t beat the fireworks display we saw in Hong Kong though.
We went to have the free breakfast on the morning of January 1, 2009. We packed our stuff in our backpacks. We checked out of the Siam Bayshore. It was definitely a good place to stay in. We took a car to the Pattaya Centre Hotel. We checked in and put our stuff in the room.
For dinner, we walked to the Oriental Seafood restaurant. Ivan ordered a fish for himself and the salad bar. Jennifer got the Chicken BBQ and the salad bar. I wanted to try the fried bananas with vegetables. The dishes were big portions and tasted great. There was a show with girls dancing to music.
Ivan thought some of them looked like ladyboys. A ladyboy is a man who looks feminine so they dress up as a girl. It’s usually easy to spot them. They’re mostly tall and sometimes they have an adam’s apple.
We went shopping around the markets. Ivan was trying to find some DVDs. He recently bought a USB DVD player so we could watch movies on the laptop. After shopping around, we went back to the room to sleep.
