Ivan and I had lunch at the house on October 9, 2011 before we headed to London. Lil Dave decided to stay in. He was hoping to jump on the bed and hang out with Cousin Dave.
We went to see the play Terrible Advice at the Menier Chocolate Factory ,directed by Frank Oz (voice of Miss Piggy, Cookie Monster and Yoda).
The play stars Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap) who plays Jake. Jake and Stanley (nicknamed Stinky) are best friends. Jake is in a relationship with Hedda while Stanley is involved with Delila. Stanley finds himself in trouble. Jake reveals a secret and then gives advice to his friend. This play was funny and very entertaining.
Afterwards, we got the train. Then, we waited in line at The Comedy Store. We saved our seats in the front row.
Ivan and I were hungry, so we each got a tasty falafel wrap at Maoz.
We walked to Piccadilly Backpackers. Ivan and I checked in to the hostel. We put our stuff in the dorm room. We had decided to stay in the hostel overnight as the there was problems with the trains getting back to Southend, so to avoid sitting on train for ages we decided to just stay in the hostel overnight.
We walked back to The Comedy Store. It was another great night of improv with the Comedy Store Players. Stephen Frost was on tonight since Josie Lawrence was off.
I was still hungry. Ivan and I went to check out Spuntino. This tapas restaurant on Rupert Street doesn’t have a sign outside. Ivan and I shared eggplant chips with a fennel yogurt and a wild mushroom & taleggio pizzetta.
The food was very tasty. This small restaurant has cool décor, cheap wine and plays great music. Ivan said that the décor was like the Meatpacking District in New York. It’s always nice to find a good restaurant that’s open late.
Ivan and I headed back to the hostel. We watched Hidden on the laptop before going to sleep.
